An old song I first listen when watching The Greed of Man 大时代 very long time back.

2009-08-21 (2) Pura Ayun

Entrance fee to Pura Ayun is IDR 3K (~RM 1) per person.

On your left after the entrance, there is a watch tower. You may climb up to the tower for full pura view. Watch out for the slippery steps.



It is not huge. I can't remembered how long we spent there, should be less than an hour.

While accompany parent watching an old Hong Kong series 大时代 (The Greed of Man), this song was played in the series. The singer is Anita Mui, if you know her.

2009-08-21 (1) Ubud

In the early morning, we walked to Ubud market. It took us around 15-25min to reach market from Puri Dalem Cottages. On our way, we passed by a lot of shops. A lot of them are still closed while some is preparing to start the business of the day. According to our driver, balinese pray two times a day, before and after work. They use a lot of flower put inside a palm leave basket with incense. We see a lot of pura (temple) on our way to market. Well, thousand pura island :D

A lot of unique shop in town. We did not stop by any of the shop as they were still closed.


If I have not mention else where, most Balinese lady is Iron Head Kung Fu :D Look at picture below and you will get what I mean :D

After we checked-out, we departed to Pura Ayun. Before we leave Ubud, we stop by Pizza Bagus to get a pizza for take way. There are few different flavors of pizza and few are mostly vegetables.


Pizza Cantik (tomato, mozzarella, asparagus, spinach, egg, parmesan, basil) 12 inch costs us IDR 36K (~RM 13). Well, this is my first time eating spinach pizza, quite special :) Popeye the sailorman, 'boot boot' :) We also bought a cup of avacado juice, IDR 11K (~RM 4) If I have not mentioned else where, you must try the fruit juice here, prepared with fiber, thick and less sugar, very good taste :D

2009-08-20 (8) Bebek Bengil （Dirty Duck Diner), Ubud

After shower, we walked to Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Diner) for dinner. It was around 6.30pm, but it started to get dark, not like that we have in Malaysia where started to get dark around 7pm+. By the way, the sun is very 'hardworking' here, it rise around 5am, much earlier than that of Malaysia :p

The restaurant is quite huge. It is more like cottages style, where there are few different dining area in the garden, thus diners do not feel noisy/pack.

In the menu, there is story on the restaurant name.

Bebek Bengil, the original crispy duck. Oh yes, it is a very small duck. Very crispy, the sauce is quite spicy. Well, everyone come to taste this, I feel, hmm, okay, quite crispy.

Nasi campur, quite special. Still, I prefer Malaysia satay better :p

Barbeque pork ribs. This is nice, really nice :)

After so many meat, we got ourselves some grilled vegetables :)

Before I forgot, watch out when walking on the small-rock-paved-path, it is too 'romantic' (in other words, it is dark) and one can easily fall down if do not pay attention to the rock.

The dinner costs IDR 289K.After the dinner, we walked a little at Monkey street, but most of the shops are closed/closing, thus we went back to hotel and get a good rest.

That's the end of day 1 in Bali. Finally :)

Jive

Before the class begin, few friends already mentioned jive is fast and needs lots of energy. After 1.5 months learning Jive, today practice seems to be the first exhausted class.Well, I totally agree with that today, 1 hour practice is equivalent to my 7 hours hiking from Mesilau to Laban Rata of Kota Kinabalu. This is the first time after dance class that I felt want to sit there and do nothing :p For more pro dancer, I guess you probably have that feeling after every practice right? :p

2009-08-20 (7) Puri Dalem Cottages, Ubud

We reached Puri Dalem Cottages, Ubud around 6pm+.

This is similar to BaliSandy Cottages, this cottages door lock is more secure, but BaliSandy Cottages bed is more comfortable.

I started to pay attention to fold/origami after got to know an origami hobbyist. This could be one of the very rare hotel that fold their towel :)



Well, I appreciate the balcony outside the room, facing swimming pool. It is really nice to sit there, and think nothing.


The breakfast area. There is also massage services. I can't remember the charges as we were then leaving to Ubud market before checked-out.


Two room costs us IDR 721K.
