When I first step on Penang after my graduation, there were few hawker centers in my new chapter of life here. One of it is Teluk Bayan, near Bukit Jambul Shell station. There are lots of hawker stalls here e.g. curry noodle, tom yam, sabah noodle, fried kuey teow, wan tan noodle, fried noodle, fried rice, pizza and many more. All these and the hawker center now became history. It was demolished starting 2 weeks ago. Here is how it looks like now:
Referring to the two construction worker there, this piece of land belongs to government (not sure state of federal), government reclaim the land for other development purpose. If I would have know about this earlier, I would definitely come to ask where does the curry noodle move to. Anyone any idea where it move to? Please share with me if so, I occasionally would like to have a bowl of that curry noodle.
No more belacan fried rice.
ReplyDeleteHuh??!?!?!?! WHY?!??!?!?! W-H-Y??

This is the place I always visit when I come back to Penang...
If I got to know earlier, will go ask those hawker where they move to, now is harder lor...

ReplyDeleteIt's empty land right now.
ReplyDeleteGood also they demolish it fast coz I can see schoolboys gathered and smoke inside the area ever since the hawkers moved out.
I didnt capture the demolishing, just observed from far time to time :p
Shirley, I will try update those news here, if I ever get any :) As of now, the claypot chicken rice is same with Sunshine square food court I heard.
