I found this forwarded email is meaningful. Thanks to WH for the sharing.

Balls of life

This is a forwarded email from a friend. Enjoy :)
------------------------------------
30 second Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)

"Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them - Work, Family, Health, Friends and Spirit and you ' re keeping all of these in the Air.

You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back..

But the other four Balls - Family, Health, Friends and Spirit - are made of glass. If you drop one of these; they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for it."

“WORK EFFICIENTLY DURING OFFICE HOURS AND LEAVE ON TIME. GIVE THE REQUIRED TIME TO YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & HAVE PROPER REST.”

An umbrella

Get this from a forwarded email. I pass by a shop selling umbrella everyday. The umbrella looks like a normal black colour umbrella until you open it, there are painting of blue sky and clouds inside the umbrella.

In our life, there could be more raining day, cloudy day than sunny day. I can't change the weather, but I can decide on my 'mind weather'. I hope you will have all year long sunny day inside your mind from now on :)

[TH, if you are reading, I am thinking of your umbrella song in KBox :D ]

Bring happiness home

Get this forwarded email, found it interesting :)

--------
I visit a friend at his house. On the main entrance, there is a little board saying "Before entering, take off the worries, bring happiness home"

After I got into the house, the family members there really were happy. The environment is so peace and warm. I asked about the board. The hostess told me the story. On one day when she went home, she saw her tiring and anxious face in the lift mirror. She was shocked. She asked herself what will be her husband and children reaction if they ever see this face. She also asked herself how would she react if she see similar face of others. Then she thought about the children and husband silence during dinner...On the next day, she make the board and hang it on the door to remind herself.

Apparently, the board remind not only her but the whole family. Ever since then, the family relationship has improved and more happy.

What a cute lady.

There is always just a tiny cross line between good vs bad, lucky vs unlucky, happy vs worry. It is all about the thought, if we change our mind, the world will be different.

If we change our mindset, the altitude will changed, then the habit will changed, lastly our life will be changed.

Ayah

A forwarded joke from email :p

-------------------------------------

A man came home from work and his children ran to him and called out ‘Ayah! Ayah!’.
His neighbor got very upset and said to him, “Can you please tell your children not to call you ‘Ayah’?” The man asked, “Why?”

The neighbor retorted, “Because my children call me ’Ayah’ too. They might get confused and mistake you to be their father.”

Then the man told his neighbour, are you not ashamed to say that your children do not know who is their 'Ayah'.So you are saying by using the word 'Ayah' ,your children will call me ayah too without knowing who their father is.

The neighbour said yes,only I should use the word 'Ayah'.

The man said, then there is something wrong in what you are teaching your children.They are not sure and do not know who is their 'Ayah'.

The Paradox of Our Age - by Dr. Bob Moorehead

As I mentioned I will share this. Enjoy :)

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers; wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families; more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense; more knowledge, but less judgment; more experts, yet more problems; more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion; big men and small character; steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce; fancier houses but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember, spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember to say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember to say "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak, and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

A story

This is a forwarded email available in both English and Chinese version, hope it can keep your heart warm for the rest of the day and keep a balance life :D

-------------------------------------------------------------
4 years ago, an accident took my beloved away and very often I wonder, how does my wife, who is now in the heavenly realm, feel right now? She must be feeling extremely sad for leaving a husband who is incapable to taking care of the house and the kid. 'cos that is the exact feeling that I have, as I feel that I have fail to provide for the physical and emotional needs of my kid, and failed to be the dad and mum for my kid.

There was one particular day, when i had an emergency at work. Hence, I had to leave home whilst my child was still sleeping. So thinking that there was still rice leftovers, I hastily cooked an egg and left after informing my sleepy child.

With the double roles, I am often exhausted at work as well as when I am home. So after a long day, I came home, totally drained of all energy. So with just a brief hug and kiss for my child, I went straight into the room, skipping dinner. However, when I jumped into my bed with intention of just having a well-deserved sleep, all i heard and felt was broken porcelain and warm liquid! I flipped open my blanket, and there lies the source of the 'problem'.... a broken bowl with instant noodles and a mess on the bedsheets and blanket!

Boy, was I mad! I was so furious that I took a clothes hanger, charged straight at my child who was happily playing with his toy, and give him a good spanking! He merely cried but not asking for mercy, except a short explanation:

"Dad, I was hungry and there wasnt anymore leftover rice. But you were not back yet, hence I wanted to cook some instant noodles. But i remembered you reminding me not to touch or use the gas stove without any adults around, hence i turn on the shower and used the hot water from the bathroom to cook the noodles. One is for you and the other is for me. However, I was afraid that the noodles will turn cold, so I hid it under the blanket to keep it warm till u return. But I forgot to remind you 'cos I was playing with my toys...I am sorry Dad..."

At that moment, tears were starting to run down my cheeks...but I din want my son to see his dad crying...so I dashed into the bathroom and cried with the shower head on to mask my cries....

After that episode, I went towards my son to give him a tight hug and applied medication on him, while coaxing him to sleep. Then, it was time to clear up the mess on the bed. When everything was done and well past midnight, I passed my son's room, and saw that he was still crying, not from the pain on his little buttock, but from looking at the photograph of his beloved mummy....

A year has passed since the episode, I have tried, in this period, to focus on giving him both the love of his dad and mum, and to attend to most of his needs. And soon, he is turning seven, and will be graduating from kindergarten. Fortunately, the incident did not leave a lasting impression on his childhood memories and he is still happily growing up.

However, not so long ago, I hit my boy again, with much regrets. This time, his kindergarten teacher called, informing me of my son's absence from school. I took off early from work and went home, expecting him to explain. But he wasn't to be found, so I went around our house, calling out his name and eventually found him outside a stationery shop, happily playing computer games. I was fuming, brought him home and whack the hell out of him. He did not retaliate, except to say, 'I am sorry, Dad'. But after much probing, I realized that it was a 'Talent Show' organized by his school and the invite is for every student's mummy. And that was the reason for his absence as he has no mummy.....

Few days after the caning, my son came home to tell me, the kindergarten has recently taught him how to read and write. Since then, he has kept to himself and stayed in his room to practice his writing, which I am sure, would make my wife proud, if she was still around. 'cos he makes me proud too!

Time passes by very quickly, and soon another year has passed. It's winter, and its Christmas time. Everywhere the Christmas spirit is in every passer-by...xmas carols and frantic shoppers....but alas, my son got into another trouble.. When I was about to knock off from the day's work, the post office called.. Due to the peak season, the post master was also on an edgy mood. He called to tell me that my son has attempted to post several letters with no addressee. Although I did make a promise never to hit my son again, I couldn't help but to hit him as I feel that this child of mine is really beyond control. Once again, as before, he apologized, ' I'm sorry, Dad' and no additional reason to explain. I pushed him towards a corner, went to the post office to collect the letters with no addressee and came home, and angrily questioned my son on his prank, during this time of the year.

His answer, amidst his sobbing, was : The letters were for Mummy.

My eyes grew teary, but I tried to control my emotions and continued to ask him: " But why did u post so many letters, at one time?" My son's reply was: " I have been writing to mummy for a long time, but each time I reach out for the post box, it was too high for me, hence I was not able to post the letters. But recently, when I went back to the postbox, I could reach it and I sent it all at once..."

After hearing this, I was lost. Lost at not knowing what to do, what to say....

I told my son, " Son, mummy is in the heavenly kingdom, so in future, if you have anything to tell her, just burn the letter and it will reach mummy. My son, on hearing this, was much pacified and calm, and soon after, he was sleeping soundly. On promising that I will burn the letters on his behalf, I brought the letters outside, but couldn't help opening the letter before they turn to ash.

And one of the letters broke my heart....

Dear Mummy,

I miss you so much! Today, there was a 'Talent Show' in school, and the school invited all mothers for the show. But you are not around, so I did not want to participate as well.. I did not tell Dad about it as I was afraid that Dad would start to cry and miss you all over again. Dad went around looking for me, but in order to hide my sadness, I sat in front of the computer and started playing games at one of the shops. Dad was furious, and he couldnt help it but scolded and hit me, but I did not tell him the real reason. Mummy, everyday I see Dad missing you and whenever he think of you, he is so sad and often hide and cry in his room. I think we both miss you very very much. Too much for our own good I think. But Mummy, I am starting to forget your face. Can you please appear in my dreams so that I can see your face and remember you? I heard that if you fall asleep with the photograph of the person whom you miss, you will see the person in your dreams. But mummy, why haven't you appear?

After reading the letter, I cant stop sobbing. 'cos I can never replace the irreplaceable gap left behind by my wife....

For the females with children:
Don't do so much overtime. If you cannot finish the work, it must be some kind of problems within the company, and it is not your sole problem. Feedback to your boss. Endless overtime may not necessary be the answer to the problem. Take care of your health so that you can treasure and take care of your little precious.

For the married men:
Drink less, smoke less, cos nothing can replace your good health, not even business nor clients.

Try thinking this way, are you able to work till your clients are totally dependent on you? or your boss is totally dependent on you? In this society, no one is indispensable.

Take care of your health, so that you can take care of your little precious and your loved ones.

For those singles out there:
Beauty lies in loving yourself first.

With confidence and loving yourself, you will see the beauty in other things around you. You will be able to work better and happier. Don't let your health be affected by your work or your boss, so nothing matters more than your well being.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Last year, a friend of mine committed to suicide. He is a young Phd holder, employed by a very good company. His wife is a Phd holder in Psychology. I cannot understand the reason he put a full stop to his life. His medical records revealed his serious depression problem. A normal human like me and others, live every day; but there were people who holds to their strong believes and dreams, either continue to chase it, or suicide.

Frequently, there were friends advices to hold a Balanced Life, between life and career.

If you work for 14 hours, seldom talk to your family after that, do you think that is a balanced life? Luckily I don’t. I always feel a walk with family, watch TV together, cook for them and etc are the most precious and enjoyable moment.

Yesterday, a friend forwarded me story. In a temple, a senior monk always offers food to a dog named “Let go” every 6pm. When the sun is almost set, he will always call Let Go and offers the food. The junior monk was puzzled about the dog’s name. They approach the senior and tried to get the answer. The senior just smile and want the junior to find out the answer by himself. After few days, the junior found out after senior offers the food, he will do some Tai Chi Quan exercise; take some walk, instead of keep reading chants. The senior is glad about the findings and explained, “I am so glad you realize it. Whenever I call Let Go, I am also asking myself to let go, let go of some works. A human cannot finish everything in a day, but we should have completed the most important thing in that day itself, and that is good enough.”

Human is getting to more competitive life, which on the other hand shows the importance of Let Go. Whenever you face a problem, just put your hand back, the sky won’t fall, the earth keep spinning and life goes on. This is not lazy, but people who know how to Let Go at right timing and appropriate situation, will be the life winner. In contrast, a man who busy for whole day, usually brings only tiring and worries with him along.

This reminded me on another stories about African.

A western research team went to Africa and hires few locals to be local guide. They need to rush for the journey. Fortunately the locals are fit to walk fast while carrying heavy luggage. The progress went well for the first three days and everyone are happy. On the fourth day morning, the locals refused to continue the journey, no matter how the research team requested. The research team wondered if they offense the locals, or they want a raise in the fee? The locals explained, according to their tradition, if one rushed for journey for three days, he must stop on the fourth day, to let the soul to catch up with the steps.

In this modern world, this seems to be a superstition thought. But I was touched deep in my heart. We are all busy with life. Works and pressures chase us to rush for our journey, caused us seldom stop and leave our soul far behind.

Without our soul, we are just controlled by the outside world, where goes our inner world?

Weekend is coming soon, shall we give ourselves a break, wait for our soul to catch up with us?

In Chinese writing, busy 忙 consist of two parts: 心(heart) and 亡(perish).
A ‘perished heart’, is equal to a human without a soul.

A meaningful story from forwarded e-mail. Translation version will be uploaded soon :D

~~~忙~~~
如同…“心”己“亡”。
也如同…一個人沒了靈魂。
一个听来的故事
又是说故事时间:)
话说在一千年前,哗,这么老套,爱睡了吧:)
言归正传,从转载邮件看到的一个故事,(谢谢Jennie哦):
一對夫婦在婚後十一年生了一個男孩,夫妻恩愛,男孩自然是二人的寶。
男孩兩歲的某一天,丈夫在出門上班之際,看到桌上有一藥瓶打開了,不過因為趕時間,他只揚聲妻子把藥瓶收好,然後就關上門上班去。
妻子在廚房忙得團團轉,就忘了丈夫的叮囑。男孩拿藥瓶,覺得好奇、又被藥水的顏色所吸引,於是一飲而盡。
藥水成份厲害,即使成人服用也只能用少量。男孩OD(Overdose服藥過量),被送到醫院後,返魂乏術。
妻子被事實嚇呆了,不知如何面對丈夫。緊張的父親趕到醫院,得知噩耗非常傷心,看兒子的屍體,望了妻子一眼,然後說了四個字。
作者叫讀者猜,
這丈夫說了四個甚麼字?
答案是:
「I love you, darling!」
作者說:這反應是 Proactive 的(即反過來控制局面,而不被局面控制)。
作者亦盛讚這丈夫是人類關係的天才,因為兒子的死已成事實,再吵再罵也不會改變事實,只惹來更多的傷心,而且不只自己失去兒子,妻子也失去兒子。
這故事,主旨是彰顯人類選擇的自我層次 ,同一件不幸事你可以怨天尤人,
痛罵社會,甚至自責無窮,但事情卻不因這些而改變,這一切只改變了你和日後的生活,負著疤痕的活下去。
反之,放下怨恨和懼怕,放下過去,勇敢的活下去,事情的境況原來並不如想像中壞,這就是作者所說的Proactive Behavior,
也就是我們所說的由人轉境 ,而不是被外界事物牽著走 。很簡短的故事,
但是,有多少人能做到呢?
當我看到那句' I love you, darling! ' 的時候,心中感概萬千......多麼簡單的一句話,但要有多久的修練,多大的包容,多深的人生智慧,才能在那種時刻說出如此令人動容的一句話。
每個人都有不想讓人所知的不幸事,自己選擇了什麼方式去面對,又怎麼去面對未來,以及週邊的人事物...
與你分享我的感想也祝福朋友你永遠順心喜樂!
1.遇到你真的愛的人時
努力爭取和他相伴一生的機會!因為當他離去時.一切都來不及了....
2.遇到可相信的朋友時
要好好和他相處下去。因為在人的一生中.可遇到知己真的不易
3.遇到人生中的貴人時
要記得好好感激。因為他是你人生的轉折點
4.遇到曾經愛過的人時
記得微笑向他感激。因為他是讓你更懂愛的人
5.遇到曾經恨過的人時
要微笑向他打招呼。因為他讓你更加堅強
6..遇到曾經背叛你的人時
要跟他好好聊一聊。因為若不是他今天你不會懂這世界
7.遇到曾經偷偷喜歡的人時
要祝他幸福唷!因為你喜歡他時.不是希望他幸福快樂嗎?
8.遇到匆匆離開你人生的人時
要謝謝他走過你的人生。 因為他是你精采回憶的一部分
9.遇到曾經和你有誤會的人時
要趁現在解清誤會。 因為你可能只有這一次機會解釋清楚
10.遇到現在的伴侶
要百分百感謝他愛你。 因為你們現在都得到幸福和真愛
故事说完了,希望您读的开心,活得开心 :)
我的家庭真可爱
http://www.sinchew.com.my/node/91144?tid=1
-------------------------------------------------------
想给大家说一个故事。
*本故事纯属虚构,如有雷同纯属巧合*
一个家庭有二个孩子。他们在同样的环境长大。大儿子有一些额外的特权(没有什么特别原因,就只因为是大儿子嘛)。
时间过去了,二儿子勤奋努力工作,在工作上取得好成绩。相反的,大儿子滥用了他的特权,游手好闲,无所成就。当大儿子看到二儿子的成就时,却眼红了起来, 说这个家不像属于大儿子的,因为二儿子比他有成就。所以大儿子要求更多特权,甚至要争夺属于二儿子辛辛苦苦赚取回来的钱财。如果你是外人/父母,你会怎么 看这件事情?很可惜,为了某种原因,或许是为了分享大儿子从二儿子榨夺得钱财,很多人都站在大儿子的身边,而且变本加厉,直指二儿子的不是。
请问,公平在那里?人性在那里?大儿子的脑袋在那里?大儿子狗朋狐党的良心在那里?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
请好好想一想,你无权选择你的父母,但是你有一些基本人权的选择。
