去年年初开始拍打拉筋,后来忙着meditation,后来拉筋+meditation,还有toast master 啦,自闭中心啦,朋友聚会啦,回家啦,等等,等等。每天拉筋多久呢?一边脚10-30分钟,渐渐爱上了拉筋。这么厉害?拉一拉,你就知道!嘻嘻。

Some thoughts on gallstone detox program

If you'd read my post on Get rid of gallstone 排胆石
, after read a URL (thanks to AS for the link), I recalled on some of the doubts I ever had while doing the program.

1. For the big gallstone I observed, it is soft all the way into the core when I pressed it. I was a bit surprised, was mis-lead by the name stone. After google gallstone composition, it looks like it could be soft.
2. Why the gallstone float? After read the composition, if it is consist of oil e.g. cholesterol, then it make sense for it to float?
3. Are those really gallstone? Or just some substance formed after I take those lemon/olive oil?

Well, maybe there are accurate answer out there which I do not know. After the detox, maybe due to removal of gallstone, or cleanse the digestive system after diarrhea, I noticed 1 obvious change.

If you do read traditional chinese medication book, it was mentioned that when our nerve deliver the Blood Qi 血气 to other part of the body, our nerve will become bigger, as in picture below.




* The hand was actually in relax position, although it looks like fist.

Different human body has different schedule when the Blood Qi is delivered. After I read the book, I pay attention to my hand trying to find out my schedule. I figured the nerve it usually happen only once after I 敲胆经 massage Gallbladder Meridian. After the detox, I have this more frequent, especially after meall. If the book on Blood Qi delivering is correct, I hope it is a good change to my body :)

Get rid of gallstone 排胆石

Look at picture below, take a guess what is that. I believe my readers are all smart and know it is a gallstone :p



It is a soften gallstone in my body. In actual it is dark green in color, I was tired, and no mood to adjust color brightness and thus it looks darker.

Why did I have a gallstone of myself :O? Don't worry, I have not gone through any operation. I did by referring to guideline below:



1st - 5th day
- Take 5 apples every day. Either red or green apple is fine. If you are taking big size fuji apple, just 3 is enough. You may blend the apple and take it juice, 100cc.
- Apple is to soften the gallstone.
- Take less oil and lighter diet, less meat.
(MK: If you seldom take fruits, I believe you should notice some changes in pass motion during these days)

6th day
- Stop eating apple. Take less oil and lighter diet, less meat. Stop taking meal after 1pm.
- 6pm: Mix 10g of epsom salt with warm water. Feel free to replace warm water with grape fruit or apple juice for better taste.
- 8pm: Mix 10g of epsom salt with warm water.
- 10pm: 125ml pure fresh lemon juice mix with 125ml extra virgin olive oil, drink it slowly and finish it in once. You may replace lemon juice with grapefruit juice. After finish, go to bed immediately.
- Epsom salt helps to release bile duct, olive oil increase bile discretion, to push the gallstone out from gallbladder.

- On the same night, or next day, the stool will usually be in greenish black color. The gallstone will float on the water, you may pick it up if you wish to.
(MK: Some people use 'filter'. For me, I got just one big gallstone as shown in the picture, I used the disposable spoon.)
- If you have a lot of gallstone, can tried it again after few months to get rid of the left over. (MK: I'm sorry it doesn't define how many is a lot). For normal people, do it annually.

A tips on the leftover lemon skin, use it to clean your kitchen, e.g. knife and etc.

The epsom salt taste a bit bitter. I did drink some 南非叶 before, and still can accept the taste. Around 6.30pm, I need to go to toilet, and it is like normal. After second epsom salt consumption, I can feel the discomfort, not sure is it from stomach or colon. It stop me from sleeping at 10pm. Around 10.30pm, I started to run to toilet, for 3 times until 11.30pm, then only the discomfort is gone then I managed to fall asleep.

The next day morning, after wake up, the diarrhea started again, and it is getting more and more watery. I ran to toilet for 4 times in an hour. After that, the frequency reduced. For 7th day, I ran to toilet 7 times, around 20 gallstones, beside the big one shown in picture above, the rest are around 2-3mm in size.

If you would like to try it, recommended to stay home for 6th and 7th day. Do not arrange anything on the 8th day. My colleague has the diarrhea on her 8th day. It may vary depending on your body condition or maybe the quantity of the epsom salt taken and etc. My colleague has more than 30 tiny pieces of gallstone. I was surprised she has so much in her gallbladder and that make me want to try it too. Luckily I did it to get rid of the big one. Or else I think if I continue to maintain previous healthy living style, it will eventually gone too, most likely need much longer time.

* After the 7th day, my body feel a bit different because of the epsom salt. It is claimed to be normal, it will last around 3 days.

The color of the phlegm 痰的颜色

Remember the song The Color Of The Wind? It is a nice song. Did you ever know the color of the phlegm also carry certain meaning to reflect our body health status?

A common Chinese understanding is that it will indicate your body is Cold 寒or Hot 热气. Recently I read a traditional chinese medicine book bought from Beijing, phlegm may not produce in only lung but also other organ of our body, e.g. stomach. The color indicates the origin of the phlegm, then you will know which organ is working or in trouble (I'd lend the book to a friend, I will put more details when I get it back). When I google for more information, there are different explanation by different body.

I am not sure how accurate is the information, I am not a medical practioner nor scientist, be skeptical with the information and see if it sounds logical to you :)

How much do you know about Moon? How much do you know about your own body?
How much do you know about people surrounding you? How much do you know about yourself?

We know very less how our body works (I don't think no one in the current world know exactly all. If there is, there will be no cancer. Cancer is a disease which we do not know how to cure effectively yet.) If we don't even know our own body, please don't expect you will know other people mind, and don't expect other people can read your mind all the times ;) By this, there will be less quarrel and life will be happier :D 我不祈求别人100%懂我,因为我自己也不100%懂我自己 :D

Bone health check

In conjunction with my workplace health week program, Anlene setup a free bone health check counter at the exhibition booth. In order to perform the check, the testee first need to fill up some information e.g. name and age, he/she then need to take off one shoe (and sock) and put that leg onto a machine. That little machine looks similar to an Osim foot massager. The tester will key in some information which I guess is age, then spray some water on your ankle, which will be intact with the machine when the check start. Wait for a while, then remove the leg. The machine will show the result.



The greater the number, the better it is. I remembered my last year reading was 1.x, this year is 2.3. Although I am not really sure how accurate the result is, but at least there is some improvement ;)

What did I do for the past year? Sleep earlier, be happier, less meat, minimal dairy product (I don't drink milk), more fruits and vegetables :)

Fresh Shitake Mushroom by Agro Bio-Future Gunung Jerai

Fresh mushroom can be hardly find in Malaysia last time. In recent, it is easier to find in grocery store. I just got to know there is also mushroom plantation at Gunung Jerai, Kedah. The mushroom is freshly pick and pack. It taste good :D

According to the seller, using packaging below, it can be kept for around 1 month inside fridge, although it might become more dry eventually.





The packet (if not mistaken is 500g) cost RM 17.50. Smaller packet is RM 5 at 150g.

Wheat Bran

Want to increase fiber intake? Besides psyllium husk, there are also bran. Below is wheat bran where you can get from Adventist Bakery @ RM 1.50 for 300g. I am not sure if it is consider expensive or cheap, seldom see this product elsewhere.



To consume, my colleague told me just put 2 table spoon with oat in hot water.

In english, it means if we wish to stay healthier and longer life, it is very important to keep our colon and intestine clean and clear.

By theory, a good habit is to have 3-4 times pass motion a day.

Take care

Island Hospital is sort of a well known hospital in Penang, beside its medication quality service and also slightly higher price. Besides, there are few hospital as well e.g Gleneagles, Adventist and etc.

I recently visited Island and Adventist for a medical check up. I have different thoughts on these two hospitals after my visit. First of all, this is just my personal experience, it may vary depending on the doctor you visit. Secondly, things changed, the story could be different after few weeks/months/years.

Choose your doctor wisely. I heard from other friend, some hospital in Penang started to charge unreasonably due to insurance medical card coverage. I do not think that should be the way, it will indirectly cause the insurance premium to be more and more expensive. And some more, where is the doctor ethic?

Oh by the way, don't worry about me, it was a normal gynecology check up and the result is well. I just would like to create more awareness among public to seek for second opinion and don't just rely on doctor says, it's OUR BODY!

If you can spend 1 hour test drive a car, can you also spend 1 hour for your own body health? If you will ask thousands of questions before buying a house, can you also ask thousands of questions when discussing your health status with the doctor?

Cannot drink lemon with honey?

I think it is quite common to drink lemon with honey together. It is a good recipe for sore throat.

I am surprised to learn from 吴永志:不一样的自然养生法实践100问 page 89 that it is recommended not to drink lemon juice with honey for health purpose.

After digested, lemon will became alkaline in our body. But if we add honey, the sugar substance inside honey will turn lemon acidic, even though very little amount of honey. But if you have sore throat, drink honey lemon will help improve the condition. 250cc lemon juice with 25cc honey.

Honey lemon has been my favorite juice beside plain water when dine out, guess just honey or just lemon next time.

Poisonous money plant 有毒金钱树

Does this plant looks familiar for you? This plant is called Zamioculcas (Common name "Zanzibar Gem"). In Malaysia it is more commonly known as Money Plant. A common say is that this will bring wealthiness thus it can be found very easily in office or household recently.

The User's Manual For Human Body - Disclaimer

SN shared this book with me written in Chinese 人体使用手册 The User's Manual For Human Body. I found it interesting and would like to share here. I will be translating the book based on a soft copy version I get on the web which the book hasn't published in hard copy.

The terms I used in my sharing post will be based on my best and my understanding. It might not be accurate.

Fake fruit juice

Remember previously there were report saying Pearl Milk Tea 珍珠奶茶 is not healthy because of some artificial ingredient? This time, even fruit juice is fake, beside fake soy sauce, fake egg and etc.

So thankful I didn't take a lot of fruit juice when I was in Beijing for 3 months. But I recalled I did see some, the herbal gel 龟苓膏 in my beijing food sharing post.

* I had been away for one week, hope to spend more time here but still stuck with clearing work assignment, hopefully have can write more regularly :D

Detox - First day

Due to unhealthy diet during Beijing trip, I would like to try plant-food-only detox again. If possible, it should be carried out for two weeks. It is not easy to find 2 weeks for that, where there need to be no long meeting and no gathering/farewell meal.

On Oct 24, I'd decided to start the body cleansing, although there are still few up coming activities but very less.

The meal menu:
I cooked a big bowl of vegetable soup with olive oil [Choy sum, leafy lettuce (油麦菜 Mak Choy), fish meat, wolf berry].
Breakfast: Vegetable soup.
Lunch: Vegetable soup and 2 cups fruit/vegetable juice (whenever I mentioned fruit/vegetable juice, it is from Tom Wu's recipe)
Dinner: Vegetable soup, added more vegetable and asparagus.

Result:
Nothing much special. Two toilet output which I sometimes also can achieve by eating more fiber product e.g. psyllium husk.

About detox

Some said, beside internet and communication business, next cycle of business opportunity will be health related product. Well, it is undeniable that health awareness is increasing in terms of physical exercise or food. Yoga/pilates, ionizer, water filter system, health care product, gym and lots more. (Can tell by the high jump price in face mask because of the H1N1).

One of the popular practice is Detox. That day a friend asked about the detox diet I'd took, and I would like to share my experience and comment today :)

1. Carrot/Orange juice
Before I started my detox, there was a colleague who tried carrot/orange juice detox formula.

How to do
Her formula is just drink carrot/orange juice (the fruit fiber was separated and not consume) for 1 week. 2-3 days before start, slowly reduce your diet using light diet e.g. porridge and juice. After finish, slowly increase diet by taking light diet again. This is to let the stomach to slowly adapt to the fluid diet changes. According to her, first two days of the diet will be the hardest, but after that you will get used to just drinking juice.

My opinion

I do not dare to try this one at all. I am not confident to live for 7 days with juice with no fiber. Her main purpose is to reduce weight and clean the colon. On the contrary, I want to gain weight. Her opinion is it works well on her body.

2. Plant food only
How to do
Got to know this link from a friend. From the link page 3, it is "A less extreme cleanse involves removing hard-to-digest, unhealthy and/or heavily refined foods from your diet. Avoid caffeine, sugar, fried foods, junk foods, dairy products, meants, starchy foods and processed foods. Focus on eating at least five servings of fruits and vegetables - raw is best - 30 grams of fiber, 24 grams of soy protein and no less than 64 ounces of water every day for a minimum of two weeks." Read some of my previous Chinese blog post on this 排毒的第一天 and subsequent day. I didn't follow the recommended product in page 4 of this link, not enough budget :p So I consume only fruits and vegetables for two weeks , either raw or quickly cooked in soup, plus the NutriFresh.

My opinion

I am more comfortable with this less extreme approach. I still remember during the last two days of the detox, my face skin was really soft, less oily although work in air conditioned office all day long, just rinse with water after work and it was clean, no facial product is needed. Unfortunately, I experienced few days diarrhea after that, which could maybe because I seldom take 'hot-nature' vegetable during that period e.g. ginger, pepper, herb/spice. My body is too 'cold' 寒. After knowing this, when I first know Tom Wu fruit/vegetable juice recipe with 'hot-nature' plant e.g. ginger, I have confidence on his recipe in his book 吴永志-不一样的自然养生法. You may also go to youtube and search for some TV video on Tom Wu by key in his name 吴永志 in the search option.

While taking this detox diet, I consumed no rice nor vermicelli (no starchy food), I feel hungry very frequently, almost every two hours, especially I have not known Tom Wu's recipe yet. The lucky thing is I do not have much long meeting during that period, so can eat at my cubicle whenever I felt hungry. I just started this detox again on Oct 24 with some new implementation. I will share this detox experience soon :)

3. Banana Soy Juice
This was popular in Japan some time ago, where there was very high demand on banana at that time :)

How to do
Referring to my blog post
自制豆水, there is a quick summary on this detox method. The summary is translated here:

Day 1 - 2: Consume soy bean juice + banana blend only. 200ml for each meal. Use fresh soy milk and fresh banana. (After discussion with SN, we think it should be okay to take Tom Wu's recipe also, as long as no solid food in these two days.) Recommended to start this during the weekend, as it will be more difficult to do this during working day.

Day 3 - 6: Soy + banana blend for breakfast. For lunch and dinner, you may take normal meal, highly recommended high fiber and more plant food.

Day 7: Soy + banana blend and normal breakfast meal. For lunch and dinner, same as Day 3-6, you may take normal meal, highly recommended high fiber and more plant food.

My opinion

This has some effect on me although it is not as great as Excel-way detox. Especially after every soy + banana blend, there will be healthy nature call. Some of SN's detox experience using this and Tom Wu's recipe. This could be a good option to start with.

4. Master Cleanse

My opinion

I bought the cayenne powder but do not dare to try this yet, same reason with the carrot/orange juice detox method. A colleague tried this and he felt this is really effective in loosing weight. If not mistaken, he did it for the minimum period recommended only.

More exercise, Thai advertisement 趣味泰国广告

I like to watch Thailand's advertisement, innovative, funny but meaningful :D



I read from somewhere "Healthy inside, beauty outside". A human body health status is reflected at its outer shell e.g. skin, hair, nails, eye and etc. If the body is healthy, the skin will be smooth and shining, the face color is natural and healthy. This belief driving me to sleep early everyday, try to drink fruit/vegetable juice daily, be happy and do regular exercise :)

Finally home :)

It's so good to be home, tasted the hokkien mee, few durian fleshes; don't have to rush to apply lotion after dinner; don't have to cover my nose while walking on the street. But of course I will missed Beijing too, it is so organized especially transportation and parks.

I received a lot of question if I need to be quarantine. Well, according to company travel policy, Beijing China is not a critical area and I don't need to be. In fact, I felt it is safer in Beijing in terms of H1N1.

At Beijing capital airport, most officer have face mask on, especially those have direct contact with flyers. But in KLIA, I didn't see any officer wearing face mask.

Maybe China learnt from SARS case and really take a lot of steps. From online news, I read Malaysia government is taking action for long too, but just I didn't see it, yet.

All my friends/readers, take care, healthy is our own responsibility but nobody else.
