I know election is coming. But isn't this a bit over? Imagine if you are tourist, what will you think about Malaysia political party?

See, they are using just tape and 'single sided knot /'. Whichever party putting the flag, please be considerate. Put it properly, for the sake of safety of the public. Use better string and make it cross rounded so the flag doesn't fall.

When listening to news on TV, Janji Ditepati is always heard. Well, let's apply the 5W1H.

Who - Janji daripada siapa dan kepada siapa?

What - Janji mana satu?

When - Bila? Untuk kedua-dua yang telah dan telah ditepati.

Where - Di mana? Seluruh negara atau pun kawasan tertentu sahaja?

Why - N.A. 

How - Macam mana janji ditepati? Berapa wang telah dibelanjakan? Adakah keputusan memuaskan?

If you're happy and you know it (clap your hands)

Did you watch badminton game sometimes? If you did, you probably aware that Lin Dan do have a certain action after he won a point. That could be one of the NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) that we will do certain things or action, subconsciously, under certain conditions.

Long story short, I figured when I am happy, I like to tap. For example when the car is stopped waiting for traffic light to turn green, if I am happy I will tap on the steering while listening to music. Or sometimes tap on one's shoulder or back. I realized the tap was influenced by this happy song. Well I cannot clap all the while, so tap instead. Have you figured your NLP? ;)

Inspiring mother and kid conversations, "Sometimes we can't always get what we want in life."

In one of the cable car ride from Genting Highland, I was with a foreigner couple with a kid looks around 4 years old. The mother explained to the kid about the tropical forest, and how is it different from their motherland's. 

The mother then passed a yellow colour water bottle to the kid. The kid declined and insisted on a green colour. The mother patiently tell, "Sometimes we can't always get what we want in life, we just have to accept what we've got." The kid asked why. The mother just repeat the same sentence as answer, patiently. The kid accepted the answer and happily take the yellow colour bottle. I found it inspiring, sometimes we can't always get what we want in life, we just have to accept, love and appreciate what we've got. If I was the kid and it was my mom, I think the answer I will get is just "Don't ask." lol. 

Later the mother asked the kid, "xx, where is Jesus?". (Nah I am not a Christian but I think this is meaningful to share). 

Kid: Mmm, I don't know.

Mother: Remember, when we were in Africa, Jesus is up there in the sky.

Kid: Yeah.

Mother: Now Jesus is up there in the sky too, watching us.

Mother: And Jesus in deep inside here in our heart too. Jesus is everywhere.

Mother: So can you tell me where is Jesus?

Kid: Jesus is up there in the sky (He pointed to the sky), and also here (The kid placed his palm near his heart).

The mother continued to tell the kid more about life, but I can't recall the contents.

I do not know if the kid really understand it but I think the mother did a very good job. As long as a religion lead a person to be kind, humble, and other good moral values, it is a good belief. A religion is far beyond the statues and statutes. 

The conversations stopped here because we'd reached the base station. However, the inspiring dialogue stayed in my mind till today. 

In one of the volunteer session at autism center, a clever autistic kid insisted to get a green color tambourine. He cried and yelled to die for one. The mother just let him cried and yelled. The noise affected other kid then I went to get one for him. He stopped making noise and happily follow the musical session. One of the mother later told me I should have not did that. Sometimes we need to be assertive for the autistic kid to learn "Sometimes we can't always get what we want in life, we just have to accept what we've got." This will avoid a kid to be spoil. I think the same applies to all kid. I tried and it works. Education starts when one was born and cease on the last day in life. 活到老，学到老!

Customer relationship management

How important is customer relationship management? WWF Malaysia has been doing that since I joined. World Vision Malaysia has started to do that as I can see. Even charity body is doing that, needless to say commercial business. If you are a business owner, give it some thoughts. Keep a record  of your customer's birthday and send them greeting email/sms on that day or in prior. Do the same during festive seasons as well. I heard there is software program in the market which can ease the job, although I am not sure about the price. 

Are we catching up?

When I was in Beijing in year 2009, there were comments flying around that China's technology might be one of the top in the world. Infrastructure development in Beijing was surprisingly fast and well. However, when you still see residents spit on the street regardless of their age, you will know, their culture is not catching up with the speed of urban development.

Looking back at Malaysia, there are still LOTS more to be developed and built. Are we, both culture and development really catching up approaching 2020?

P/S: The rubbish bin is actually less than 50m away.

When you see X, what appears in your mind?
X-Men? X-ray. I guess Don't Care seldom appears in one mind. During college study on digital electronics subject, the X value represents Don't Care. Nah, I am not trying to say anything technical, it just meant Don't Care ;)

Allow me to shift the focus a little. I read from a forwarded email that in this world, there are only three type of matters.

1. The universe nature's matters
2. Other people's matters
3. My own matters

Can you instruct the sun to goes down or the stars to come out?
Can you stop the earth from spinning?
So we can't control universe nature's matters :)

Can you control what people think about you? Oh yes you can do/say something to change one's mind slightly, but you have no control over one's mind.
When you see someone fell down and you offered your hands. If one's decided to stay there, your hands will numb in the air.
Okay, you have no control on other's matters.
Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's quote to support this ;) By the way, to control other is never in my list :p

Can you look at the mirror and smile?
Can you blink your eyes?
Can you now sit down and stand up?
Yes, we have control's on our own matters. However, sometimes there are still things that we ourselves lack of control.
Sometimes you can't help falling into someone when first met.
Sometimes you can't help following one's word/path.
But you will realize one day you can actually control how you think, what you say, what you eat, etc.

Before and after meditation...

The above bring different meaning to me before and after attended the meditation classes. Before meditation, it will mean my goal, my will. After meditation, it means the reactivity when things happen, yes, awareness, knowing what happened when it happened. Watch my own reactivity when the thoughts come; Watch my own reactivity when I deal with people; Watch my own reactivity when I deal with myself; Watch my own reactivity when.... 

Try to attend some when you have chance. Try to attend those with practice + practical theory. What changed you from time to time? Meditation changed me the most although I am just beginner and have not practice it formally :)

RM15的价值

在现在这个社会，RM15可以做些什么呢？例子可多了。
- 看一场戏+玉米花
- 吃一餐普通的午餐/晚餐 （抱歉，吃的比较好一些RM15是绝对不够的）
- 吃1/4餐自助餐
- 买3包薯片
- 吃2餐KFC/McD
- 买半本、1/4本书（马来西亚的书都挺贵的 :( ）
- 买。。。

说实在的，RM15，套句香港人的话“跌了也不知道”。如果RM15可以帮你增进口才、自信、聆听技巧、评论技巧、时间管理、遣词造句、演讲急智、幽默感、管理演说、沟通技巧，等等，这RM15值得吗？当然，那不是一次就买到，而是一个月训练二次，连续几个月或几年的训练累积而来的成果。如果口才靠一二堂课就可以学会，请问世界上还会有人吵架吗?

一个苹果手机打比方说RM2000，同样的钱可以去5年半（2000/15=133次=5.5年）的训练，同样的价钱，花在5年半的训练比较值得，还是一个苹果手机值得？当然，如果工作需要买一个苹果手机，那没办法。但是眼观身边的朋友同事都是因为潮流，而给自己买了一个奢侈玩具（luxury toy）。凡非基本需求（吃、水、住、穿、行等），而且工作上没有需要，一律定做奢侈品）。但是肯为学习，不管什么技巧/运动，甚至烹饪摄影的学习都可以，肯为学习付出的，实在不多见。认识一个什么课程也上的女企业家，她年过40，认识她这些年，她的学习及学以致用的精神，实在是让我汗颜的。一个拿过金牛奖的成功企业家，为了学习，以空杯子心态，放下面子身份追求学问，‘抵’她有钱有朋友。

身外物可以给到我们一些娱乐，可是一不小心就会掉了的。脑袋里的知识，可以帮助我们的家庭事业人生，赚更多的钱。你要哪一个？供养这些身外苹果，还是长期投资自己脑袋的知识？

如果你曾经读过塔木德，答案很清晰，就是别人怎么抢也抢不走的知识技巧。

态度行动24 :O

刚听新闻，某人因为态度行动24失败而感到难过。

诶，我很少看电视节目，除了看新闻。从网上新闻稍微知道有态度行动24，可是网站没有清楚说明态度行动24是什么东西。在路上，我也没有看到什么布条、广告有关态度行动24，有谁可以告诉我·态度行动24做了什么东西启发大众小心驾驶，有礼貌驾驶？

今天在一个斑马线前，红灯亮了，停了车，我排在第二辆。路人过了马路过后，过到一半的时候看到有摩多车，还特地停下来（看来这个路人和我有过同样的经验），确保摩多车停了以后才继续过马路。还没有亮绿灯，隔壁车道的车子竟然开始驾驶，闯红灯。让后在我之前的车辆也闯红灯。哦，我的天。我按兵不动。竟然，3秒以后，后面传来车笛声，有人horn我们这些前面不闯红灯的车。

刚才那个路人唤起了我深处的记忆。我还记得有一次我在行人灯绿的时候过马路，过到一半，一辆摩多车在我面前以时速60km/h呼呼而过，如果我有心脏病，恐怕当场病发了。应该是善事存摺还有余额，可以避过一难。阿弥陀佛，善哉善哉，阿门，阿拉，观世音菩萨，xxx。

我的天啊，态度行动24怎么可能成功？政治人物啊，在说为什么会有这样的结果以前，先检讨自己为人民做了什么吧！假惺惺推卸责任这一套在这个世纪已经行不通了。

Do it right

When I’m working on a problem, I never think about beauty. I think only how to solve the problem. But when I have finished, if the solution is not beautiful, I know it is wrong

This is a quote by R. Buckminster Fuller (1895-1983), American engineer, author, designer, inventor and futurist. Maybe I am an engineer thus when I read it, I have so much feeling with the quote? :p Anyway, I really does stop for few minutes to think about it. It reminded me of "do things right, don't do it just for the sake of doing," , because we are human, not robot.

I tried to see the big white space from current motherland government drivers, but unfortunately the fact is below, where I can hardly see the white space...

No offense, just my personal thoughts. Maybe you can find more white space :p

Sun shade or 'car shade'?

I know, it is hot here in Malaysia, that we need to put on sun shade. But I hope, if you used to do like the car owner below, putting sun shade at the back windscreen while driving, I hope you can kindly spend 2 minute to put it down before start driving.





Why? It block the view of vehicle behind you, which make it dangerous. No? Have you heard of 飞蚊症 floater, with a small mosquito always in your eye sight is so annoying, needless to say such a big blockage :)

Are you a 'flasher'?

Have you ever drove on PLUS highway at night or early morning when it is dark and everyone have to turn on the car light?

If so, have you ever being 'flashed' by the flasher? Or if you are a flasher, do you know that for drivers 'flashed' by you, their eyes get hurt and possibly the eyes will go blank for a short while? Can you imagine after you flashed someone, his eyesight gone for few seconds and that is actually very dangerous! What if he can't see the road condition well, accidentally bang you while you were overtaking him?

There were few incidents (in fact there are few tenth incidents) where I was being 'flashed'. At ALL cases, I was driving at 110km/h and overtaking buses/lorries. There was once my eye sight was blackout for 3-5 seconds. Luckily no accident happened as I roughly know the road condition for being travelling quite frequent on PLUS highway. Very frequently, my eyes are very painful after being flashed. I can't imagine for driver with high degree of astigmatism.

I understand for people driving at 130km/h and beyond, they are very reluctant to press the break pedal. But please be considerate, I am driving at the speed limit, can the speedo just please stay behind my car for few seconds until I finish overtook the long vehicle? My reader, for all of the cases, I was half way overtaking the long vehicle, then the speedo reached behind me and isn't patient to wait for few seconds. Some more you know, if you can't estimate the speed of the incoming car from back or car in front of you, whether they are slower of faster, so that you can prepare to accelerate or put your leg off from accelerate pedal, I don't think you are a good driver. You are just someone who drive blindly fast, not driving smartly fast.

Speedo, if you would like to speed, that is your choice, but please don't 'force' other people to be involved in your speedy game. You may win the few second of victory, but you'd loose yourself of being someone who can share the road with other driver.

A light joke about flasher. They must always bring a torchlight with them.Why, a light joke to end this post. One day a speedo go to KFC/McD (or any restaurant actually :p ) and there are long queue to order the food. Since he can't flash their car light, what will he do? He will take out a torchlight, flash on person in front of him (maybe on the eye), so that the person in front of him will go to other queue, then speedo can get to the food counter as soon as he can.

*gosh, I hope this will not become real :p *

早点说马

从来没有听过早点说马这个节目，只知道它是一个时事清谈节目。在大马，有多少个华文时事评论节目没有被攻击过？WaFM倒闭，TV2的‘xxx说’节目变质，myFM早前一个时事评论节目被警告。。。枚不胜数。

虽然我没有听早点说马这个节目，我并不怀念这个节目，但是这次是言论自由的权利。如果某人举‘箭’被ISA查办，这次早点说马风波，我可以接受。但是，举‘箭’之人还是逍遥自在的做高职，‘我接受唔到咯’

忘记是那一个人说过，想想没有华人的大马，会是怎么样的？想想没有所谓土著的大马，又会是怎样的呢？

A survey

When I visit http://opinions.sinchew-i.com/ today, there is a survey dialog prompted, in Malay. Then some question pop into my mind. I am reading a mandarin online news, but the survey is in Malay language. Will it be more effective if the survey is in Mandarin? But anyway, neither button I clicked show me anything, so it served like a decoration item take up some reading space...

UPSR/PMR?

If abolishing UPSR/PMR will:

- increase education quality, where teacher will have more time to upgrade their knowledge and teaching skills.

- decrease student quit study rate

- cultivate student study desire

- increase student knowledge

- cultivate student reading habit

- can achieve the education goal

then please do so. If not, please concentrate on doing the things right, before you can improve it.

Privatization?

Many years ago, I cannot remember the actual year, Malaysia government decided to privatize some agent/body, e.g. water and electricity. As a consumer, I can see slight improvement, but in general, the service is still bad, and the system is still old and not flexible.

Just one thing that is really efficient I can see, when they want to get your money and charged your bill and penalty payment in a very timely manner, never missed.

Another 10 years to Wawasan 2020, do you think it is achiveable? With some policy i.e. NEx has been extended for so many years, and Plus highway contract extended for few times, very likely there Wawasan 2020 due date will be extended where the world leave this country behind, on this globalization platform. I hope not.
