Bye bye Teluk Bayan Hawker Center 金湾饮食中心, Penang

When I first step on Penang after my graduation, there were few hawker centers in my new chapter of life here. One of it is Teluk Bayan, near Bukit Jambul Shell station. There are lots of hawker stalls here e.g. curry noodle, tom yam, sabah noodle, fried kuey teow, wan tan noodle, fried noodle, fried rice, pizza and many more. All these and the hawker center now became history. It was demolished starting 2 weeks ago. Here is how it looks like now:

Referring to the two construction worker there, this piece of land belongs to government (not sure state of federal), government reclaim the land for other development purpose. If I would have know about this earlier, I would definitely come to ask where does the curry noodle move to. Anyone any idea where it move to? Please share with me if so, I occasionally would like to have a bowl of that curry noodle.

有些人说是马来人的地。所以众说纷纭。我之前去的时候又没有听谁说过要拆。太突然。tomyam maggie不知道去了哪里。

Oh wow, so efficient. BH did you capture the demolishing process?

I saw new hokkien mee stall in the housing area between Sunshine and Kg Jawa traffic light. I am not sure if that is the one coz almost all stall signboard looks similar to me, e.g. the font and color.

It's empty land right now.
Good also they demolish it fast coz I can see schoolboys gathered and smoke inside the area ever since the hawkers moved out.

I didnt capture the demolishing, just observed from far time to time :p

Shirley, I will try update those news here, if I ever get any :) As of now, the claypot chicken rice is same with Sunshine square food court I heard.

Wah so fast got people 'lepak' there :O Agree that good to demolish fast. Hehe a bit surprised to know you see it from time to time, and no need to work 16 hours on Monday :p 'Tak payah petik madu ke' :p
